“Save the Bay”, a non profit organization in Narragansett, RI is running "Tour of Rhode Island Lighthouses 2010".

It is an all day trip 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. that goes from Save the Bay Campus in Providence, down the West Passage, around Beavertail into Newport Harbor. You will stop at and tour Rose Island Lighthouse and have your bag lunch. Then you go up the East Passage and back to Providence.

With the exception of the August 21 tour, all tours will be narrated by Dave Kelleher. Dave is a member of Friends of Pomham Rocks (FPRL) and New England Lighthouse Lovers (NELL).

You will see 16 lighthouses up front and personal, and view 7 sites of lost lighthouses.

A percentage of the profits go to FPRL. This is a lot of lighthouses in 1 day and the cost is only $100 per person with your choice of bag lunch included.

Tour dates are as follows: May 29, June 12 (June 26 rain date), July 10, July 31, Aug 21, Sept 11 and Sept 25 (Oct 2 rain date).
