New England Lighthouse Lovers -  NELL

A chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation

This is the first of three albums. In this first album a small group of lighthouse lovers met Jeremy D'Entremont (lighthouse historian) in Maine to travel to off-shore lighthouses. This album starts in Bar Harbor where fog and high seas cancelled our boat trip. We went on to Pumpkin Island lighthouse, Swan's Island light, Mount Desert lighthouse (in the fog), and Great Duck Island light where waves crashed on the rocky shore. Along the way we saw beautiful lilies, various birds, wild life and, of course, images of the lighthouse lovers on this trip. Many thanks to Linda Shay, whose idea it was to start this trip, and especially to Jeremy D'Entremont for putting it all together.
